Conflicts of Interest
The International Journal of Advanced Research in Humanities and Law (IJREL) is committed to maintaining transparency, fairness, and integrity throughout the editorial and publication process. Authors, reviewers, and editors are expected to disclose any actual, potential, or perceived conflict of interest that could influence, or could reasonably be perceived to influence, their judgment or decisions.
Authors
Authors must disclose any financial, personal, professional, institutional, or other relationships that may create a conflict of interest in connection with their submitted manuscript.
Potential conflicts may include, but are not limited to:
-
Financial relationships or sources of funding related to the research.
-
Employment, consultancy, or advisory relationships.
-
Personal or professional relationships that could influence the research or its interpretation.
-
Institutional or academic affiliations that may create a potential conflict.
-
Ownership of intellectual property, patents, or other relevant interests.
-
Any other circumstances that could reasonably be perceived as influencing the objectivity of the research.
Authors should include a Conflict of Interest Statement in their manuscript.
If no conflict of interest exists, authors may state:
“The authors declare that they have no conflict of interest.”
Authors are responsible for ensuring that all relevant conflicts are disclosed accurately and completely.
Reviewers
Reviewers must disclose any actual, potential, or perceived conflict of interest before accepting a manuscript for review.
Reviewers should decline an invitation to review if they have a personal, professional, institutional, financial, or academic relationship with the authors or the research that could compromise their impartiality.
Reviewers must not use unpublished information obtained during the peer-review process for personal or professional advantage.
Editors and Editorial Board Members
Editors and editorial board members must disclose any conflict of interest that could affect their editorial judgment.
An editor should not participate in the editorial decision-making process for a manuscript when they have a significant conflict of interest, including circumstances involving:
-
A personal or professional relationship with one or more authors.
-
The editor's own research or a manuscript in which the editor has a direct interest.
-
Institutional affiliations that could affect impartiality.
-
Financial or other interests related to the manuscript.
Where appropriate, the manuscript should be handled by an independent editor to ensure a fair and unbiased editorial process.
Management of Conflicts of Interest
IJREL evaluates disclosed conflicts of interest on a case-by-case basis. Disclosure of a conflict does not necessarily mean that the manuscript cannot be considered for publication. Where a conflict may affect impartiality, the journal may take appropriate measures to manage or eliminate its influence.
These measures may include assigning an independent editor, appointing an alternative reviewer, requesting additional disclosure, or taking other appropriate editorial action.
Funding Disclosure
Authors should disclose all sources of financial or institutional support relevant to the research and manuscript.
Where applicable, the funding statement should identify the funding organization and, where available, the relevant grant or project information.
If the research received no specific funding, authors may state:
“This research received no specific grant from any funding agency in the public, commercial, or not-for-profit sectors.”
Transparency
IJREL considers accurate disclosure of conflicts of interest an essential component of responsible scholarly publishing. Failure to disclose a relevant conflict may result in further investigation and appropriate editorial action in accordance with the journal's publication ethics policies.
Questions regarding conflicts of interest should be directed to the editorial office:
